Toyota has announced a recall of approximately 655,000 Camry vehicles worldwide due to a software problem that could cause the dashboard display to remain blank when the vehicle is started.
The issue primarily affects 2025 and 2026 Camry Hybrid models sold in the United States, with more than 508,000 vehicles involved. The problem could prevent important features such as turn signals, hazard lights, and certain safety warnings from working properly.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue could increase the risk of crashes by making it difficult for drivers to see certain warnings or for other motorists to recognize their intentions on the road.
How will Toyota fix the problem?
Owners will be able to take their vehicles to authorized dealerships, where they will receive a free software update. Notifications in the United States are expected to begin being sent on September 21.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between December 2023 and July 2026 at plants in the United States, Japan, and Thailand.
