World Baseball Classic champions unable to travel to Venezuela to celebrate with fans

The historic victory of Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic 2026 sparked celebrations across the country, but the championship players will not be able to travel to Venezuela to celebrate with their fans.

According to sports authorities, many of the players have professional commitments with their teams in Major League Baseball, preventing them from making the trip at this time. Several of them must immediately join spring training camps and prepare for the start of the new season.

Officials in the country had even considered arranging a special flight so the team could briefly visit the country. However, MLB organizations did not grant the necessary permissions for the trip.

Despite the situation, discussions are underway to organize a future visit so the champions can celebrate with Venezuelan fans, possibly later in the year when the baseball calendar allows it.

Why can’t the players travel to Venezuela right now?

Because they are under contract with teams in Major League Baseball and must fulfill their professional obligations before the season begins.
