Jalen Brunson surprises the Knicks after undergoing left wrist surgery

1 Min Read

The New York Knicks have confirmed that their star guard Jalen Brunson successfully underwent surgery on his left wrist, an injury he battled through for much of the NBA playoffs without letting it stop him from leading the team to a historic championship.

Brunson chose to delay the procedure so he could remain on the court during the postseason, where he played a crucial role in the Knicks’ title-winning run. He will now begin a rehabilitation program with the goal of returning at full strength before the start of the 2026–27 NBA season.

Will the surgery affect his availability for next season?

At this point, it is not expected to. Medical reports indicate that his recovery is progressing as planned, and Brunson should resume basketball activities before the start of the new season, provided there are no setbacks during his rehabilitation.

The Knicks remain confident that their leader will be fully ready to headline the defense of their NBA championship and continue establishing himself as one of the league’s elite players.
