The popular burger chain In-N-Out Burger has removed number 67 from its ordering system in all locations, a decision that has drawn attention after the number became a viral phenomenon among young people on social media.

Users on TikTok, Reddit, and other platforms massively spread the meme known as “6-7,” inspired by the song Doot Doot (6 7) by rapper Skrilla and reinforced by references to cultural figures such as NBA player LaMelo Ball, who is 6’7″ tall. The term, which has no concrete meaning and is part of modern generational slang, became so popular that it turned into a recurring joke: teenagers crowded into restaurants waiting to hear employees call out order number 67.

According to several employees, when orders jumped from 66 directly to 68, crowds of teenagers reacted with cheers, gestures, and recorded the moment, creating confusion and disruptions in various locations. After noticing the impact of the meme, In-N-Out officially decided to remove number 67 from its order-calling system, so the count now goes from 66 to 68.

Why did In-N-Out remove number 67?

The chain made this decision mainly to avoid interruptions and confusion inside its restaurants caused by the “6-7” meme, which led groups of young customers to react loudly every time the number was announced, disrupting the normal workflow and overall customer experience.
