Huawei has officially unveiled its new Mate XT2, a premium foldable smartphone designed to transform into a tablet-sized device when fully opened. The launch strengthens Huawei’s position in the high-end Chinese smartphone market as competition with Apple and Xiaomi intensifies.
The Mate XT2 features two hinges and a redesigned folding mechanism that allows its display to expand to around 10 inches, while the external screen measures approximately 6.5 inches. The device also includes Huawei’s new Kirin 9050 Pro processor, a 5,600 mAh battery, 66W fast charging and a triple rear camera system.
However, its cutting-edge technology comes at a steep price. The Mate XT2 starts at 19,999 yuan, roughly $2,980, while the most expensive version reaches about $3,725. Sales in China are scheduled to begin on September 12.
Why is the Mate XT2 attracting so much attention?
