Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and the artificial intelligence company xAI, has announced his plan to sue Apple, accusing the company of engaging in antitrust behavior. According to Musk, Apple deliberately excluded his key apps, X (formerly Twitter) and Grok, from the App Store’s “Must-Have” section, despite their popularity.

In a post on X, Musk openly challenged Apple’s decision:

“Why do you refuse to put X or Grok in your ‘Must-Have’ section when X is the number 1 news app in the world and Grok ranks number 5 among all apps? Are you playing politics? Curious minds want to know.”

He argues that such actions unfairly limit competition and reduce visibility for emerging AI companies, giving undue advantage to Apple’s preferred partners.

The dispute adds to a growing history of tensions between Musk and major tech corporations. Apple has previously faced antitrust scrutiny and regulatory fines in both the United States and Europe for similar allegations regarding its App Store policies.

What happens next?

Musk has stated that xAI will take “immediate legal action,” though specific legal steps and timelines have not been disclosed. Industry experts suggest that if the lawsuit proceeds, it could reignite global debates over Big Tech monopolies and app marketplace fairness.
