Costco surprises customers with new digital wallet to make shopping easier

1 Min Read

Costco has introduced a new digital tool designed to make shopping easier for its members in the United States. The new feature, called Costco Wallet, is integrated into members’ accounts and allows them to manage payment methods while bringing together funds from their well-known Costco Shop Cards.

The new feature is available through the Costco mobile app and Costco.com. Users can transfer balances from one or more Shop Cards into the wallet and use the funds at physical stores, restaurants, pharmacies, gas stations, and for online purchases.

Can Costco Wallet be used with any bank card?

No. Currently, the tool requires a Visa credit or debit card linked to a U.S. billing address. Costco Wallet also cannot be added directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

The system allows users to review recent transactions and use their available balance during checkout. With this feature, Costco aims to offer a more convenient alternative for members who manage multiple gift cards.
