Yesterday, Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto shined through seven innings with nine strikeouts in a row, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a commanding 8-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, sweeping the Wild Card Series and advancing to the National League Division Series.

The game shifted in the sixth inning with four big runs, and although the Reds threatened a quick comeback, the Dodgers’ relievers closed it out. At the plate, the team recorded 13 hits, highlighted by Mookie Betts with three doubles.

Despite Cincinnati taking an early 2-0 lead, Yamamoto bounced back and retired 13 consecutive batters, showcasing his dominance over the opposing lineup.
