The Golden State Warriors have added veteran forward Georges Niang on a one-year, $3.9 million contract, completing the team’s 15-player roster for the upcoming NBA season. The agreement was reported by ESPN and gives Golden State another experienced option for its second unit.
Niang, 33, is known for his ability to stretch the floor. He has made 39.9% of his three-point attempts throughout his NBA career, making him a potentially valuable offensive piece for a Warriors team built around perimeter shooting.
The veteran forward missed the entire 2025-26 season after suffering a fracture in his left foot in September. Before the injury, however, he had established himself as a durable reserve, appearing in at least 72 games in each of his previous five seasons.
What role will Niang have in Golden State?
He is expected to serve primarily as a reserve in the frontcourt, providing three-point shooting, experience and offensive spacing behind players such as Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford.
With the move, the Warriors have filled their final roster spot and added another veteran capable of contributing without demanding a major role.
