Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has changed his position and agreed to accept the penalties imposed by the NBA following the league’s investigation into salary-cap violations involving Kawhi Leonard.
Ballmer previously indicated that the Clippers would challenge the NBA’s findings, but he has now confirmed that the organization will comply with the sanctions and has already paid the league’s $30 million fine. The Clippers must also forfeit five future first-round draft picks, while Ballmer faces a one-year suspension from NBA activities.
The investigation concluded that Ballmer helped facilitate off-court income opportunities for Leonard that violated the league’s salary-cap rules. Leonard was separately fined $700,000.

No. Although he still disagrees with some conclusions in the investigation, Ballmer has said he wants to move forward, apologized to Clippers fans and accepted responsibility for the controversy.
