Indiana is facing one of the worst flooding emergencies in decades after several days of torrential rain caused rivers to overflow and left severe damage across multiple communities. Authorities reported at least six deaths, while rescue and evacuation efforts continue.

One of the hardest-hit areas has been Indianapolis and its surroundings, where the White River reached historic levels of nearly 25 feet. Some areas received more than 11 inches of rain in just two days, causing flash flooding, blocked roads, and significant damage to homes and infrastructure.

The emergency forced hundreds of residents to leave their homes. Rescue teams used boats to reach people trapped by rapidly rising floodwaters, while the National Guard and state agencies assisted with emergency operations.
