The Indiana Hoosiers pulled off a spectacular turnaround in college football by completing a perfect 16–0 season and capturing their first national title after defeating the Miami Hurricanes 27–21 in the College Football Playoff championship game in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza was the standout of the night. Although he finished with 186 passing yards, it was his 12-yard touchdown run on a crucial fourth-down play that defined the game and sealed the historic victory.

Indiana completes an unbeaten season and wins its first national title after defeating Miami

Indiana’s season has been one of the most impressive transformations in the history of college sports. A program that spent decades struggling to escape mediocrity now stands as an undefeated national champion. Under head coach Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers exceeded expectations, defeated top-tier opponents, and rose to the very top of the nation.

Why is this title so significant for Indiana?

Because it not only represents the program’s first national championship in college football, but it was achieved without losing a single game all season, an extraordinary accomplishment that will be etched into the history of college sports.
