A series of explosions and low-flying aircraft were reported in Caracas and other areas of Venezuela during the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, causing alarm among residents and authorities. Witnesses reported hearing at least seven explosions and seeing aircraft flying at low altitude over the capital and nearby locations, some close to military installations such as Fuerte Tiuna and La Carlota, according to local accounts and news agencies.

The Venezuelan government described the incidents as a “military aggression” by the United States, claiming that the explosions affected both military and civilian areas in Caracas as well as other states including Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. Power outages were also reported, along with scenes of panic as residents took to the streets following the loud detonations.
