Currently, sugar is a common part of the modern diet, but excessive consumption can bring serious consequences for people’s health. According to experts, the World Health Organization recommends that no more than 10% of daily calories come from free sugars, which is approximately 50 grams of sugar per day for an adult.

Excess Sugar: The symptoms You should watch out for

Exceeding these amounts can lead to issues such as overweight, obesity, and diseases like type 2 diabetes. Among the most common symptoms of excessive sugar intake are constant fatigue, anxiety, mood swings, and the appearance of digestive problems. It can also affect skin health, often causing acne breakouts.

How can I know if I’m consuming more sugar than I should?

If you experience frequent tiredness, sudden cravings for soda or sweets, and a significant and unexplained weight gain, it is possible that your sugar intake is above the recommended level. The best way to prevent this is to reduce the consumption of processed foods and try to maintain a diet rich in natural foods, fruits, and vegetables.
