At 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to break barriers and write his legacy in golden letters. On Friday, in the opening match of the Saudi Pro League season, the Portuguese forward scored from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, reaching the staggering milestone of 940 career goals.

That same day, Al Nassr secured a dominant victory thanks to a hat trick from Joao Félix, the strong form of Kingsley Coman, and, of course, Ronaldo’s reliable finishing. With his current contract running until June 2027, the Portuguese star is set to remain active until the age of 42, giving him plenty of time to keep adding to his goal tally.

In the all-time scoring charts, Ronaldo holds a clear advantage over his eternal rival Lionel Messi, who has 877 goals and would need 63 more to catch up. The dream of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo reach 1,000 goals before retirement remains very much alive.

Will Ronaldo reach 1,000 goals?

With his contract secured through 2027 and his fitness still intact, all signs point to yes. His winning mentality and consistency bring him closer each day to that mythical figure that few could ever imagine reaching.
