Amazon Prime customers in the United States could receive automatic refunds of up to $200 under a revised agreement between Amazon and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The payments are part of a $2.5 billion settlement related to allegations that Amazon enrolled consumers in Prime through deceptive practices and made cancellation difficult. The FTC says more than $845 million had already been distributed to eligible customers as of September 2026.
Under the revised order, millions of additional customers may qualify for payments, including some who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits during a 12-month period. These payments are scheduled to begin automatically on October 1, 2026, without requiring customers to submit a claim or complete paperwork.
Who can receive an Amazon Prime refund?
Eligible customers must meet specific conditions related to their Prime enrollment, cancellation attempts and use of Prime benefits.
Some customers who previously received payments could also receive an additional amount of up to $149, bringing their total potential refund to $200. Payments will continue through April 2027.
