A serious health alert has shaken Austria, Europe, after rat poison was detected in jars of baby food from the HiPP brand. Authorities confirmed that the products, made with carrot and potato, were likely intentionally tampered with, pointing to a possible criminal act.
As a precaution, supermarkets have withdrawn thousands of units in Austria, as well as in nearby countries like Slovakia and Czech Republic. The company stated that the products left the factory in perfect condition, reinforcing the theory of deliberate external contamination.

The case raises serious concern due to the risk to infants, as this type of poison can cause internal bleeding and symptoms that may take days to appear, making immediate detection difficult.
How can you identify a suspicious jar?
Authorities warn about altered lids, unusual odors, or irregular labels, signs of possible tampering.
As the investigation continues, the case is setting off alarms across Europe and leaves a troubling question: how safe are baby food supply chains really?
