Aaron Judge is back on the injured list just days after returning to the New York Yankees following a lengthy absence caused by a fractured rib.
The Yankees announced that their captain will be placed on the 10-day injured list because of a right calf strain. Judge felt stiffness in his lower right leg during Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins and was removed in the sixth inning.

The injury is another setback for the star slugger, who had only returned to action on September 8 after missing more than three months. Judge has played just 66 games this season, batting .241 with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs.

His return date remains uncertain. Manager Aaron Boone said he does not have a timeline for the Yankees captain, although his earliest possible return would be September 27, just two days before the postseason begins.
The Yankees will now have to continue their playoff push without one of their most important players.
