Former NBA player Michael Sweetney has died at the age of 43, according to his family. The former forward played four seasons in the league with the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls after making a name for himself at Georgetown University.
Sweetney was selected by the Knicks with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. He spent two seasons in New York before joining the Bulls, where he played another two seasons. He finished his NBA career averaging 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game over 233 appearances.
