A 40-year-old woman in Pennsylvania has died from complications associated with measles, marking the third measles-related death in the state this year as the United States faces its largest outbreak of the disease in decades.
The woman, who lived in Jefferson County, died Saturday, according to local authorities. Pennsylvania health officials are reviewing the case while working with the county coroner to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The situation has intensified concerns because Pennsylvania has reported at least 676 confirmed measles cases across 37 counties, with more than 120 hospitalizations.
