Yesterday, the Los Angeles Dodgers came out strong in the National League Championship Series, defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 2–1 in Game 1 played in Milwaukee. Blake Snell delivered a stellar outing, pitching eight innings with just one hit allowed, 10 strikeouts, no walks, and no runs surrendered.

The Dodgers’ offense was fueled by a solo home run from Freddie Freeman in the sixth inning, along with a bases-loaded walk that brought in the decisive run.

¿Was winning Game 1 really that important?

Yes. In best-of-seven series, the team that wins the opening game goes on to take the series about 65% of the time, and road teams who win Game 1 have advanced roughly 56.3% of the time.

With this victory, the Dodgers not only gain confidence but also send a clear message, they’re ready to fight for the National League title, and perhaps, make another run at the World Series championship.
