The Baltimore Orioles have strengthened their pitching rotation by bringing back right-hander Zach Eflin on a one-year contract worth $10 million, which also includes a mutual option for the 2027 season, according to MLB.com sources.
Eflin, 31, spent much of the 2025 season dealing with injuries, landing on the injured list three times due to a right lat strain and lower back issues. In August, he underwent lumbar microdiscectomy surgery, which prematurely ended his season.

Despite an uneven 2025 campaign, posting a 5.93 ERA in 14 starts, the Orioles believe a healthy Eflin can provide much-needed stability and experience to their starting rotation for 2026.
His return comes as Baltimore continues to improve its roster during the offseason, adding key pieces and reinforcing multiple areas of the team.
What role will Eflin play with the Orioles next season?
If fully recovered, Eflin could become a key contributor in the rotation, offering depth and veteran leadership as the team looks to strengthen its overall performance.
