Last Monday, a fire engulfed an apartment located in the building at Calle Lombillo 792, in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality of Havana. Authorities, including local firefighters and members of the Ministry of the Interior, immediately mobilized to control the flames and assess the scene of the incident.
The deceased victim was a resident of the building, whose identity has not yet been revealed. The Administrative Council of the municipality sent a message of condolences to the victim’s family, while investigations aim to determine the cause of the fire.
This incident has once again highlighted the structural vulnerability of many buildings in Havana, which face maintenance problems and outdated electrical systems.
Why is it so difficult to investigate this type of fire in Havana?
Because the poor condition of the infrastructure, combined with old electrical installations and a lack of maintenance, complicates not only the causes of the fire but also the preventive measures.
