Starting in December, two of the most iconic snacks on the market, Doritos and Cheetos, will debut a new presentation that is sure to spark conversation. Under the Simply NKD line, the brand will eliminate artificial colorings and flavors, meaning the traditional bright orange will become much lighter.

PepsiCo, the parent company of both brands, announced that this update is part of a global strategy to respond to consumers seeking more natural ingredients and products with fewer additives. Still, the original versions will remain on store shelves, making this new line a “cleaner” alternative aimed at shoppers who prioritize transparent labeling.

The new Doritos and Cheetos are expected to maintain their signature flavor, although the visual change will mark a noticeable difference compared to the classics.

Will the flavor change with this new formula?

According to the company, no. Despite the reduced color and removal of additives, the taste will remain virtually the same, though consumers may perceive it differently without the iconic orange tone.
