A new chapter in aviation history is about to begin. The DART AE, known as the world’s first hydrogen-powered hypersonic aircraft, is preparing for its inaugural flight later this year. Developed by the Australian company Hypersonix Launch Systems, this revolutionary jet aims to reach speeds exceeding 14,700 km/h, more than 12 times the speed of sound.

Unlike traditional aircraft, the DART AE uses green hydrogen as its fuel, which produces only water vapor as a byproduct. This innovation positions it as a cleaner and more sustainable alternative for future aerospace travel. Its unique scramjet engine design allows it to operate efficiently at extreme speeds, potentially transforming both military and commercial aviation.

Could this technology really change how we travel across the planet?

Absolutely. If successful, the DART AE could make intercontinental flights possible in under an hour, connecting cities like Sydney and Los Angeles faster than ever before. This milestone would not only redefine global transportation but also mark a decisive step toward a carbon-neutral future in aviation.
