Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suspended Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko amid a growing corruption scandal involving alleged protection of fraudulent call centers.
Zelensky signed a decree on September 14 using powers granted under Ukraine’s martial law. The decision came after Kravchenko submitted his resignation earlier in September and later accused the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) of document fraud.

The crisis began when NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) launched an investigation into an alleged criminal network connected to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office. Investigators say the group protected scam call centers and laundered millions of hryvnias.
Was Kravchenko formally charged in the scandal?
No. He has denied involvement and maintains that the allegations against him are unfounded.
