A devastating accident shook Miami International Airport (MIA) on Sunday after an Amazon Prime Air cargo plane operated by 21 Air overran the runway while landing and crashed into several vehicles near the airport.
The Boeing 767-300, operating as Flight 7598, had departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and arrived in Miami shortly before 2 p.m. local time. After leaving the runway, the aircraft struck multiple vehicles and caught fire, sending a massive cloud of black smoke into the sky.

Authorities confirmed that five people were killed and five others were injured, including three people who were critically injured. More than 60 emergency units and around 200 personnel responded to the scene, where firefighters also had to deal with a fuel leak.
The crash temporarily halted airport operations and caused significant delays. Two of the airport’s four runways were later reopened as emergency crews continued working at the scene.
What caused the Amazon plane crash?
The cause remains unknown. The FAA and NTSB have launched investigations to determine what happened during the landing.
