In the afternoon of this day, the calm at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Venezuela’s main air terminal, was disrupted after a private aircraft suffered a serious accident shortly after takeoff. The incident left two people injured, who were immediately transported to a nearby medical facility.

The aircraft, a Learjet private jet, experienced technical failures soon after initiating its flight and ended up crashing within the airport’s perimeter, causing panic among witnesses present at the scene. Emergency and rescue teams quickly responded, extinguishing the fire and providing urgent care to the injured.

The National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC) reported that a thorough investigation is already underway to determine the exact causes of the accident. For now, flight operations at the airport continue normally, although with strict monitoring to ensure passenger safety.

What measures could be taken after this accident?

According to authorities, protocols for technical inspection and maintenance of private jets and aircraft will be reinforced. In addition, all emergency response systems at the airport will be carefully evaluated to strengthen preparedness in the event of future incidents.
