Samsung has officially begun rolling out the highly anticipated One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, bringing major improvements in artificial intelligence, security, and personalization.
The new version is already available for the Galaxy S25 series, and in the coming months it will reach devices such as the S24, the foldables Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, several tablets, and other A-series models. Among its standout features:
- Multimodal AI that understands what you see, hear, and type: offering better translations, proactive app suggestions, and a smoother, more intuitive experience.
- Revamped Now Bar and Now Brief, delivering personalized content such as health data, music recommendations, alerts, and live activity on certain devices.
- Enhanced security: Knox KEEP for app-specific encryption, Knox Matrix that can disconnect devices when threats are detected, and Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography.
Which models are compatible, and when will the update reach your phone?
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S25, the update is already available. Other models, including the S24, recent Z Fold/Flip devices, and several Galaxy A phones, will receive it between October and November 2025 depending on the region. Some older devices may be excluded or updated at a later date.
