Authorities in Los Angeles have confirmed the identity of Celeste Rivas Hernández, a 15-year-old girl who went missing in April 2024, whose remains were found inside a Tesla registered to singer David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd.

The vehicle, abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, was towed after reports of a foul odor. Inside, investigators discovered a bag containing the body in an advanced state of decomposition. Police are treating the case as a possible homicide, though the official cause of death has not yet been determined.

So far, D4vd has stated that he is cooperating with the investigation, and authorities emphasize that he has not been formally named as a suspect. The case has caused shock both in the artistic community and among the public, due to the unusual connection between the teenager’s disappearance and the singer.

How was Celeste Rivas identified?

The teenager was identified through forensic testing and by a tattoo on her index finger that matched previous descriptions. In addition, the car where the remains were found was directly linked to the artist.

Celeste’s family, devastated by the news, is seeking support to give her a dignified farewell.
