Havana woke up in shock after a tragic mass hit-and-run that left one woman dead and eight others injured in the early hours of Monday. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when a car struck several pedestrians in different areas of Centro Habana and Habana Vieja.

Authorities quickly intervened and confirmed that the driver, a foreign resident in Cuba, was detained and is now under investigation. The motives behind the act remain unclear, and experts are working to determine whether it was caused by negligence, mechanical failure, or intentional actions.

Among the victims, a 35-year-old woman died from multiple injuries. The other eight injured, including minors, were taken to hospitals in the capital. Medical updates revealed that three people remain hospitalized, though their condition is stable, and they are no longer in immediate danger.
